Budget groups

Create a budget group, add jobs to it, and pause, change or stop it.

A budget group is one weekly budget shared by one or more published jobs. The CareCommunity recruiting team runs the paid listings for every job in the group.

Changing budget groups needs the Fund paid job ads permission. By default owners and admins have it. Everyone else can see groups but not change them. If you don't see these buttons, ask your agency owner.

Create a budget group

  1. Go to Job Ads and click New budget group. Or open a job, go to Sourcing → Paid ads and click Start a budget group. That job is ticked for you.
  2. Type a Group name, for example "Albany aide hiring". If you leave it blank, the group is named after the first job's discipline.
  3. Pick a Weekly budget: $250, $600 or $1,200, or type your own amount. It can be anywhere from $100 to $2,500 a week.
  4. Under Apply to jobs, tick one or more jobs.
  5. Under How to split the budget, choose Maximize applications or Keep it balanced.
  6. Check the Payment row, then click Fund this group.

The listings go live within one business day.

Note: If your agency pays by card and has no card on file, you can't fund a group until an owner adds one. The same applies while an invoice is unpaid. See Billing and invoices.

Which jobs you can add

  • Only published jobs are listed. A paid ad needs somewhere to send applicants.
  • A job can be in only one group at a time. A job that's already in another group is greyed out and shows that group's name.

To add a job to a group you already run, open the job's Sourcing → Paid ads. Pick the group from Or add it to a group… and click Add.

Change a group

On Job Ads, click Edit on the group. Or click Edit group on the job's Paid ads tab. You can rename the group, change the budget, add or remove jobs, or change the split. Click Save changes. Listings adjust within a day.

Raising the budget needs a card in good standing. Lowering it or changing the jobs never does.

Pause and resume

Click Pause (or Pause group). Spend stops today, and nothing is billed while it's off. Click Resume to put the listings back live.

Stop a group for good

  1. Click Edit on the group.
  2. Click Stop group, then Stop for good?

The listings come down that night and the group leaves the page. A stopped group can't be restarted. Its jobs are free to join another group, or you can create a new one.

When a job closes

If you pause or close a job, it leaves its group and the rest of the group keeps running. If it was the group's last job, the group pauses. Add a published job before you resume it. Publishing the job again doesn't put it back in the group.
