Creating a job
Walk through the four steps of the new job form, save a draft, and publish when you're ready.
A job has its own pipeline board and is matched against your community. Once published, it's posted to your job boards and the CareCommunity job board. Owners, admins and recruiters can create jobs.
Start a new job
- Go to All Jobs and click New job.
- Work through the four steps: Basics, Workflow, Match criteria and Review. Click Continue to move on, Back to go back, or click a step's name to jump to it.
- Click Save as draft at any step to finish later. You land on the Drafts list in All Jobs.
The only thing you must fill in is the Job title. You can't continue past Basics, or save, without one.
Step 1: Basics
- Job title: for example "Home Health Aide — Brooklyn".
- Discipline: pick one from the list (HHA, PCA, CNA, RN, LPN, NP, PT, PTA, OT, SLP, BT, BCBA or Companion). Nothing is picked to start; you need one to continue past Basics.
- Openings: how many people you need, from 1 to 20.
- Hiring manager: anyone active on your team, or Unassigned.
- Location: City, State (two letters) and ZIP. Turn on Remote to show the job as Remote instead of a city. Keep the ZIP filled in, because community matching measures distance from it.
- Pay range: a minimum, a maximum, and Hourly, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly.
- Job description: what applicants read on your job page, your job boards and the CareCommunity board. Pick one of your agency's saved descriptions from Start from a template, or click Write with AI for a first draft from the job title, then change anything for this job. See Job description templates.
Important: To be posted to your job boards, a job needs a city and state. A ZIP on its own works when its city can be looked up.
Step 2: Workflow
Pick the workflow that sets up this job's pipeline stages and stage checklists. See Choosing a workflow for a job.
Step 3: Match criteria
These are preferences, not filters. A care professional who misses one can still show up in your matches, ranked lower.
- Travel radius: 1 to 50 miles from the job's ZIP. It starts at 10.
- Languages: choose any that apply.
- Commitment: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem or Live-in.
- Shifts needed: click cells in the grid (Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Overnight, Monday to Sunday). Click a row or column label to select the whole row or column.
- Hours / week.
Step 4: Review
If your agency uses job custom fields, you fill them in here. Then check the summary. It shows the job as Not published yet.
Publish
Click Publish job. The job goes live and you'll see "published · community matching started". You land on the job's page.
If you don't see Publish job, your role can't publish. You'll see "Save as a draft — publishing needs an admin." Save the draft and ask your agency owner or an admin to publish it.
Note: On the Silver plan you can have one published job at a time. If you already have one, Publish job saves this job as Unpublished instead: it has its pipeline, so you can add candidates and work with them, but it isn't posted anywhere. Publish it from the job's page once you pause or close the live one.
