Notifications

The bell tells you when someone applies or replies on jobs you work on, and you choose which ones also come by email.

Home is your team's shared to-do list. The bell at the top of every page is personal: it tells you what happened to the people you work with.

What you get notified about

There are two kinds of notification:

KindWhen it arrivesOpens
New applicationsSomeone applies to a job, or applies again.Their record
RepliesA candidate answers a text or an email.Their messages

You get them for jobs where you are the hiring manager, and for applications you have worked on: you added the person, messaged them, moved them or set an outcome. If nobody fits, the agency's owners get it. You are never notified about something you did yourself.

People your team adds from My Community, imports or unlocks don't count as new applications. An applicant someone types in with Add applicant on a job does count. See Adding an applicant to a job.

Using the bell

The number on the bell is how many unread notifications you have (it shows 9+ above nine).

  1. Click the bell to see your latest notifications, newest first. Unread ones have a dot.
  2. Click a notification to open the candidate's record on the right tab. This marks it read.
  3. Hover over a notification and click × to remove it.
  4. Click Mark all read to clear the count, or Clear read to remove every notification you have already read.

Several replies from the same person while you haven't read them show as one notification, for example "sent 3 messages". Reading their messages anywhere in the app marks the reply notification read too.

Choose what you get by email

  1. Click the bell, then the settings icon (Notification settings).
  2. For each kind, choose Email + in-app, In-app only or Off. Your choice saves straight away and shows Saved.
  3. Click Done.

Off means nothing at all for that kind: no bell notification and no email. Settings are yours alone, and separate for each agency you belong to.

Until you choose, new applications and replies come by email and in the app.

About the emails

Emails go to the address shown at the top of Notification settings. Each one names the candidate and the job, and has a button to open them: Review the application or Open the conversation. A reply email quotes the message.

An email waits a couple of minutes, so a burst of replies arrives as one email. It isn't sent if you have already read the notification in the app. Every email has a Change what you get by email link that opens your settings.
