Job settings
Choose a job's application questions, whether applicants can or must attach a résumé and cover letter, and whether it goes to the free job boards.
Each job has its own settings for its application form and where it's posted. Open the job and click the Settings tab, next to Pipeline and Sourcing.
A change saves as soon as you flip the switch or pick an option. You'll see Saving, then Saved, next to it. On an open job, the change reaches your career page at once and your job boards within a minute.

Questions
The Questions dropdown picks which of your agency's application forms this job asks: No questions (where new jobs start), or one of your forms. Click the question count under it, such as "5 questions · 2 rules", to see the questions and their rules.
A line underneath shows whether the form has reached the job's application:
- Applicants see these questions once the job is posted. The job isn't on your job boards yet.
- Updating the job's application… It's on its way, usually within a minute.
- On the job's application. Applicants on your job boards see it now.
- The job's application couldn't be updated yet. It will try again shortly. Nothing to do; check back in a few minutes.
Applicants on your career page and the CareCommunity job board don't answer these questions yet.
Forms are written in Settings → Application forms, which owners and admins can open. They also see an Edit this form link here, or Manage application forms (Create one if your agency has no forms yet). See Application forms.
Uploads
These control what applicants can attach when they apply: on your career page, on the job boards and on the CareCommunity job board.
| Setting | What it does | New jobs |
|---|---|---|
| Allow résumé upload | Applicants can attach a résumé | On |
| Require a résumé | Applicants can't apply without one | Off |
| Allow cover letter upload | Applicants can attach a cover letter | On |
| Require a cover letter | Applicants can't apply without one | Off |
You can only require an upload that's allowed. Turning Allow résumé upload off also turns Require a résumé off, and the same goes for cover letters.
On the CareCommunity job board, a care professional's résumé comes from their profile, and they can add or replace it while applying. A cover letter is written for one job, so it goes with that application only. When an upload is required, they can't submit until they've added it. When it isn't allowed, the upload doesn't appear. On your career page, applicants attach files to the form itself, and someone signed in with a CareCommunity profile résumé can send that instead.
Once your job boards are set up, résumés and cover letters sent with an application show up in the candidate's Files.
Distribution
Distribute to free job boards is on for new jobs. With it on, an open job goes to the free job boards as well as your career page. Turn it off to keep the job on your career page and the CareCommunity job board only. Click the info icon next to the setting to see some of the boards, such as Google, LinkedIn and Indeed. A new job can take one business day to appear on them, and the boards taking part can change. See Where jobs are posted.
Who can change them
Changing job settings needs permission to create and edit jobs, which owners, admins and recruiters have by default. Everyone else sees the settings but can't change them.
