How match scores work

What goes into a match score on the Sourcing tab, what counts most, and why some scores sit near the middle.

Both views on a job's Sourcing tab, My Community and Broader community, score each person out of 100 against that job. The score is worked out fresh each time you open the tab, and every row shows the reasons behind it.

What counts, most to least

  1. Distance: how close they live to the job. Within 5 miles scores best. On My Community, it drops for people farther away, and people well outside the job's radius earn nothing for distance. On Broader community, it slides down toward the edge of the search radius.
  2. Shifts: how many of the job's Shifts needed they say they're available for.
  3. Languages: how many of the job's languages they speak.
  4. Schedule (counts about the same as languages): whether the schedule they want (full-time, part-time, per diem) fits the job's Commitment. "Open to any work schedule" counts as a full fit. A close fit, such as part-time for a per diem job, earns part of the credit.
  5. History with you (My Community only): Hired before counts most, then Worked with you. Someone you rejected as unresponsive in the last 6 months gets nothing here and shows Unresponsive recently.
  6. Recent activity: active in the last 30 days scores best, then the last 90 days, then the last year.

Discipline comes first

Discipline isn't part of the score. It decides who is listed at all. People in the job's discipline are shown by default. If you turn on Other disciplines, those people are added with a lower score and listed after the discipline matches. People with no discipline on file also appear only with this switch on, and are scored down less.

Unknown is scored as neutral

When a person's profile is missing something, such as their availability, they get half the credit for it. A grey dashed chip, such as Availability unknown or Location unknown, shows what's missing. A score of 50 often means "we don't know yet", not "a poor fit".

In My Community, details like location and availability come from the person's CareCommunity profile. If they haven't shared their profile with you, those count as unknown.

Blank job details are left out

If the job has no ZIP, Shifts needed, Languages or Commitment, that factor is left out of everyone's score. The more of these you fill in, the sharper the ranking.
